Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion SEK each year. It is everyone's tax money that we manage. It is a great responsibility. Therefore, we delve into each case, follow laws and regulations, inform and guide, care and show concern. It is a job for those who want to take responsibility. Welcome to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
At the Benefits Crime Department, you will have a varied and qualified job in a pleasant and professional work environment, with good opportunities for a balance between work and leisure. If you also value a well-functioning collaboration with your colleagues and want to be part of a socially important mission, this could be the position for you.
Operational Development, Analysis, and Collaboration
In early 2026, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency started a new department, the Benefits Crime Department. The purpose of the new department is to gather competence, knowledge, and capacity to further strengthen the agency's ability to prevent benefit fraud. We are now looking for operational developers who want to contribute to the work against benefit fraud and incorrect payments. We belong to the crime prevention operational area responsible for driving and developing the agency's joint efforts against benefit fraud and strengthening the agency's ability to prevent incorrect payments.
As an operational developer, you will be responsible for driving and supporting customer-oriented operational development that contributes to the realization of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's vision and operational idea. You also have a responsibility to identify development needs and translate these into concrete activities. In the role, you will produce reports, consultation responses, answers to government assignments, and decision-making materials, and be responsible for the fact-finding and analysis required. You will also present the results orally in various contexts, for example, within the area, to agency management, or external actors. The work may also involve working with, for example, annual reports, driving or participating in development initiatives, developing measures, or evaluating efforts. The results form the basis for the agency and management in the important work of preventing and combating benefit fraud. The work varies between long-term and short-term focus and often involves the need to place questions, events, and activities in a societal or political context and understand how this affects operations. The work includes establishing contacts and collaborating with colleagues, both within the agency and with external actors, so you need to have a good ability to create and maintain networks.
The Benefits Crime Department is newly established, which places high demands on your ability to take initiative and be comfortable taking on occasionally unclear assignment descriptions independently. In return, you will have the space to drive your own initiatives and influence the direction of our work. The role of operational developer with us is multifaceted and varied, providing good opportunities to grow and develop as an operational developer. You are meticulous and work systematically, and you have the ability to keep a cool head even in pressured situations.
The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you have a high security awareness if you are to work with us. It is a job for those who want to take responsibility.
